Flash Back Friday #4

I just love this picture....It was taken in 1983 by one of those photography groups like pixie photos. I was 2, I think. The little dress that I have on, not that you can see much of it, was made by my mother. I love the fabric and the little lace around the sleeves is so gorgeous.

My little princess turns 1 at the start of next month and my mum has made her first party dress, peter pan color and all. She posted it yesterday so I should receive it on Monday. She decided to make her own patten and the fabric that she has chosen to use is a mixture of red and white. I can't wait to see what she's crafted up...

Home Sweet Home

I'm home at last, thank goodness. I must admit, I do love to get away for a little break every now and then but there really is no place like home. I just love my everyday routine and the way that my bed feels at night when my head hits the pillow. Everything is just perfect in my little home and I guess that trips away really make me realise that.

I'm so sorry about not being able to post on my blog while I was away like I promised. My laptop battery decided that it no longer wanted to work and that was that... So unfortunately last week there was no Flashback Friday pic, sorry.

While I was away I got a chance to do a LOT of shopping. I bought heaps of things for my little princess for her 1st birthday on the 3rd of September and I even got a chance to pop into a Spotlight store and pick up some fabric on special. Here's a pic of the fabric that I bought....You can't really see it all that well but they are all just divine!!! The one on the end at the right has little apples on it, too cute, it will be perfect for a summer dress for my little princess.

I received a parcel of fabric from America last week that I've been itching to show everyone. I picked it up on my way out of town on Wednesday afternoon and have had no blog since then to post any pictures. Well here it is...I got a couple of metres of each which I think will be ample. I've a use for the purple fabric, it will back a cot quilt, but not for the other two. I just saw them and thought 'oh what the heck'.

The online store that I bought them all from was Reprodepot and let me tell you now..... You really must go over there and have a look, it's just GREAT!!!! Her fabric is so cheap and the freight to Australia is really quick, it only took four days.

I can't emphasise enough just how happy I am with my very first overseas fabric order. I also ordered some fabric from another store in America at the same time but am yet to receive it. Hopefully it'll come some time this week and when it does I'll give you all a looksee and post the link to the site.

Road Trip

I'm so excited!!!! DH, little princess and I are heading off for a little road trip. We're going to Newcastle for 4 days for a machinery field day/weekend, well DH will be going to the field day and little princess and I will be shopping til we drop. So if anyone knows of some good sewing or craft shops in that area let me know. We'll be heading off tomorrow night and arriving home on Sunday around lunch time.
I feel horrible leaving all of my animals alone but I have a great neighbour who has assured me that they will all be fine. They also have alot of animals, like me, so they know what it's all about.

I have some bad news to report on the animal front.... I lost the little lamb that I was feeding through the eye dropper, sigh... On a brighter note the other little lamb is going really well and is back with his mother. His name is Bailey and he is just the most handsome boy, don't you think?
Here's another pic of him with one of my other ewe lambs, Annie. She's pure black except her nose. Now aren't they just the sweetest things?????

I've been meaning to tell everyone about this great little blog that I discovered through the Doll Quilt Swap. It's Lulu Lolly Legs and it's the work of an amazingly talented women from Melbourne, Australia. She has also signed up for the four seasons quilt swap (I have too), fingers crossed I might be lucky enough to have her as my swap partner. She does the most sensational patchwork. She also has a great little tutorial for a lined apron on her blog. Trust me, you won't regret it, go check her out...

I will be taking my laptop away with me this trip so that I don't miss out on posting a pic for my flashback Friday. Take care everyone........ Until next time.

Belated Flashback Friday #3

A BIG sorry goes out to everyone for the lateness of this post. I know that it is called Flashback Friday not Flashback Saturday but quite a few things have popped up over the last 36 hours that have needed my urgent attention. One being that one of my ewe's (sheep) had twins first thing Friday morning and abandoned them both. I've been bottle feeding one and the other has been getting fed through an eye dropper as she has not taken to the teat at all. So without any further adue, I give you my picture.....I was taken in 1983. I can't remember much about when this picture was taken just that we were in Sydney at the time having a little bit of a holiday visiting my Nanna. I'm the one in the red tights and grey pinny, once again made by the loving hands of my talented mother. The three other children in the picture are my sisters and brother and the man pushing us is my Dad.

I'm happy to report that I'm an auntie for the 3rd time around. My sister in law gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 7"5' at 3am on Wednesday morning. She's arriving home tomorrow so I just can't wait to see her new little bundle of joy. She had to have the baby in Sydney as our local hospital no longer has the facilities to deliver babies. This is such a pity but is becoming more and more common in small country towns throughout NSW.

PIF Exchange

I found this great little swap on Fiona's blog about a week ago. It's based on this gorgeous movie with Helen Hunt in it called 'Pay It Forward'.
How many of you out there have had a chance to watch it? O.K. If you're yet to see the movie, this is what the PIF Exchange is all about......

(Copied from Fiona's blog, which was copied from Kimberley's blog which was copied from.....you get the picture) "Here is how it works! I'll send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange!I don't know what that gift will be yet, and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week...LOL... but you will receive it within 365 days, that's a promise! and it will be something yummy!! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog..."

So the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog, I can't wait to see who you are! I have some great treats in stall for you all, just you wait and see!

Spring Seed Swap?

I had big plans of sharing a late Winter garden update with you all this post, full of beautiful pictures of Wintry produce such as peas (...
